Translating to "fishpond" in Hawaiian, Loko I'a maps out the ancient Hawaiian fishponds found along O'ahu's coastline where fish like the 'ama'ama (striped mullet) and 'awa (milkfish) were farmed. These distinctive rock-walled ponds were part of an integrated food production system that stretched from the mountains to the oceans and was uniquely constructed to take advantage of the natural flow of water to capture fish. 

Cut & sewn in Honolulu, Hawai?i, our 100% Japanese cotton broadcloth fabric also undergoes a unique finishing process that brushes the tiny fibers on the fabric's exterior, creating a subtle softness and "peached" appearance.
