Walk along any coastline or hike in the mountains and you’re bound to discover Naupaka, a native Hawaiian shrub with its unique half-flower blossom. The flower of the Naupaka plant curiously resembles a half-flower with petals missing. Its appearance, according to Hawaiian legend, is the incarnation of two lovers separated, one left to live by the mountains and the other by the sea.
