Crafted from Kahala’s signature cotton broadcloth, Taiyaki is a heritage 1950s print from the original Duke Kahanamoku by Kahala. It features a large-scale fish design inspired by traditional Japanese woodblock artwork—drawn with intricate linework, bold vertical lines, and striking color blocking.

The vintage-inspired button-down collar, French front placket, and coconut buttons pay homage to classic aloha shirt silhouettes, while a matched pocket adds a timeless touch. The bold, saturated colors are achieved through discharge printing—a complex process that extracts dye from the fabric to reveal the design.
