Next Stop: Zippy’s. Same Since Forever.

For generations, Zippy’s has been part of everyday life in Hawai‘i. The order’s already in your head before you even reach the counter.

To celebrate 60 years of Zippy’s and 90 years of Kahala, this collaboration brings us back to the moments we recognize—standing in line, talking story, and ordering the same go-to every time.

Our made-in-Hawai'i aloha shirts pulls from those familiar favorites—iconic plates, local sayings, and snapshots of island life—woven into a print that feels easy, nostalgic, and unmistakably Hawai‘i.

Two local originals at the same table.

This collaboration brings together Kahala and Zippy’s—a Hawai‘i icon founded in 1966 by brothers Francis and Charles Higa. For generations, Zippy’s has been the neighborhood go-to, serving the kind of meals you don’t need to think twice about: chili-chicken mixed plates, wonton min, chili rice, the Zip Pac. The order’s already in your head before you line up at the counter.

The artwork pulls from those familiar favorites and translates them into a playful reverse print that feels instantly recognizable—easy, local, and a little nostalgic. Offered in Island Green and Navy, each shirt is made in Hawai‘i and finished in Kahala’s signature style.

Hawai‘i’s Comfort Food

Since 1966, Zippy’s has been serving the meals people grow up with and keep coming back for. What started as a small neighborhood spot on McCully Street in Honolulu has become a local institution, bringing together families, friends, and communities across generations.

It’s more than what’s on the plate. It’s where you go after practice, after work, late at night, or just because. From chili and rice to Zip Pacs and the Zip Min, it’s the kind of food you don’t have to think twice about. Whether you are a visitor or kamaʻāina, it’s part of life on the islands.
