For Spring 2024, we’re introducing two new limited edition colors: Hibiscus and Popcorn. From the refreshing coolness of tropical fruits to the sweetness of sugary syrups in a cone of shave ice, each color invites you to experience the kaleidoscope of a warm sunny day on the islands.

Inspired by the original Tahitian "pareau" or "pareo", Kahala introduced this famous print in the 1960s. As early as 1810, this cotton fabric came from Tahiti and left its impressions on many artists and traveled royalty. French painter Paul Gaugin painted many of his primitive lifestyle pieces with women draped in bold and colorful pareos. Today the pareo print is an icon, made all the more famous by the success of Kahala's print. One of our longest-running designs, we offer this print in 10 fantastic colors for both men and boys. This style is reverse printed for a subdued color effect.

French painter Paul Gauguin painted many of his primitive lifestyle pieces with women draped in the bold and colorful pareos. As a forerunner to the traditional tapa cloth, pareo made its way to the shores of the Hawaiian islands in the early 1930's, and its unique hand painted likeness continues in this Duke's Pareo design, with subtle pineapple and floral imagery. sewn with the reverse side for a vintage look.

Our cotton broadcloth is a durable woven fabric. By having the reverse side of the fabric facing out, the prints' motifs and colors are softened. Special care is taken when printing to ensure quality and uniformity.
