Local Stories: Keep It Kaimuki

Keep It Kaimuki: Celebrating Community

Located in Honolulu, Kaimuki is known for its historic charm, local businesses, and creative spirit. Keep It Kaimuki, a grassroots initiative founded in 2018, shines a spotlight on the neighborhood's unique character while supporting the small businesses. What started as a movement to encourage shopping small and local has grown into a vibrant celebration of Kaimuki's people and stories.

A Special Edition Aloha Shirt

In partnership with Keep It Kaimuki, we’re proud to unveil the Keep It Kaimuki aloha shirt. This limited-edition design is crafted from our signature cotton broadcloth showcasing hand drawn illustrations that captures Kaimuki's distinctive character—Queen’s Theater, the fire station, historic homes, mango trees, and the mom-and-pop shops of Wai‘alae Avenue.

Cut and sewn in Honolulu, Hawai'i. Available in men's and women's styles. You can find the aloha shirt at select Kahala stores and these select Kaimuki boutiques:

Keep It Kaimuki Saturday

Keep It Kaimuki's annual event is Keep It Kaimuki Saturday (Small Business Saturday) which falls on November 30th this year. It's a neighborhood-wide celebration of local makers, shop owners, and creatives. Stroll through Kaimuki to discover one-of-a-kind treasures, and support the businesses that keep this community thriving.

As part of the festivities, we’ll be showcasing the Keep It Kaimuki aloha shirt in-stores, alongside other Kahala classics. Stop by, share your Kaimuki pride, and be part of this meaningful celebration of aloha.
