Hale Kou by Solario - Women's Blouse

Regular price $118.00
/

Introducing the Hale Kou aloha shirt, a collaboration with Honolulu-based artist Solario. With his distinct retro style, Solario brings to life the historical landmarks of Honolulu in this unique print. Hale Kou pays homage to the area once called "Kou" in ancient times, the land fronting Honolulu Harbor where Downtown and Chinatown now reside.

The Hale Kou design in the women’s style is offered in the Sunset colorway, inspired by the vibrant hues of O‘ahu’s ‘Ilima flower, the island’s official flower.

The print highlights iconic historical buildings of Honolulu, including :

Ali‘iolani Hale (1874): Originally designed as a palace for Kamehameha V, this former government building now serves as a symbol of the Kingdom of Hawaii’s architectural legacy.

Iolani Palace (1879): The royal residence of Kamehameha III and home to Hawai‘i’s monarchy.

Aloha Tower (1926): Once a lighthouse, Aloha Tower remains a beloved landmark of Honolulu Harbor.

Hawaii Theatre (1922): Dubbed the “Pride of the Pacific,” this theatre stands as a cultural icon, equal to any on the West Coast.

Wo Fat Building (1938): A historic Chinatown restaurant that originally opened in 1882 and served generations of locals and visitors alike.

A&B Building (1929): Another staple of Honolulu’s historic architectural landscape.
